Expo highlight: Visa - simple and secure in many situations
Many local authorities have expanded their digital services in recent years. Citizen portals, online applications and online booking of appointments are now the norm in many places.

However, in practice, it becomes clear that a digital application is often only the first step.
The real workload frequently arises afterwards. Payments must be allocated, benefits paid out, supporting documents checked or funds managed. It is precisely at these stages that data disconnects and manual rework still frequently occur in local authorities and public institutions.
Visa is working with a strong network of partners to make such processes simpler and more seamless. The focus is on specific use cases relating to procurement processes, the payment of social benefits, the development of digital solutions for care and healthcare processes, digital ticketing solutions, the digital mapping of application processing, and the integration of digital services into existing workflows.
At the Smart Country Convention, this approach will be brought to life for visitors through specific real-life scenarios: from online services at the citizens’ advice bureau, through local authority services and procurement, to social benefits, healthcare and care. It is crucial that digital solutions are not viewed in isolation, but are integrated with existing specialist procedures, cash management processes, payment channels and documentation structures.
Together with a broad network of partners, Visa will demonstrate how digital payment and disbursement processes can help streamline administrative procedures – in a concrete, practical way and with a focus on the typical challenges of day-to-day administrative practice.
