Easily integrate digital identities into public administration services: The Governikus Wallet Adapter offers the federal government, the states and local authorities a comprehensive multi-eID solution. Via a central, provider-independent connection, EUDI wallets, European eIDs, BundID, ELSTER and corporate accounts can be integrated into existing online services. This reduces complexity and the effort involved in integration – both now and in response to future requirements.

The Wallet Adapter supports identification and authentication. For the subsequent process steps – the issuance and presentation of digital credentials, as well as their validation – compatible or complementary software can be seamlessly integrated into existing system landscapes, enabling end-to-end mapping of the entire process. Standardised interfaces, together with the separation of business processes, wallet providers and data sources, enable interoperable, scalable and automatable processes. Different wallets, issuers and trust services can be connected flexibly.

The solution was developed in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and State Modernisation (BMDS). Through the IT Planning Council’s portfolio, it is directly available for use by the federal government, the Länder and local authorities.
