100 days to go until #SCCON26: The countdown in figures

The clock is ticking – the Smart Country Convention 2026 kicks off on 13 October. These ten figures are building anticipation for three days packed with innovation, discussion and best practice.

A crowd is heading towards the entrance to the Smart Country Convention in Berlin, above which the words ‘WELCOME’ and ‘SMART COUNTRY CONVENTION’ can be seen.

23,000 participants

The Smart Country Convention thrives on its community. Around 23,000 decision-makers from central government, the federal states, local authorities, public enterprises, the digital economy, academia and associations come together to learn from one another and shape the future of public administration together. It is precisely this diversity that makes the SCCON the ideal platform for the digital transformation of the public sector.

1,000 programme sessions

With around 1,000 sessions, this year’s Smart Country Convention once again offers a comprehensive programme focusing on the digitalisation of the public sector. Whether it’s artificial intelligence, digital identities, cyber security or smart cities – visitors will gain concrete insights, best practices and inspiration for their day-to-day work and the digital transformation.

800 high-calibre speakers

Around 800 speakers will be sharing their experiences, ideas and visions on the stages at SCCON. Federal ministers will meet mayors, CIOs will meet start-ups, and international thought leaders will meet local practitioners. This fosters discussions that go far beyond theoretical future scenarios and focus on concrete solutions.

500 partners and exhibitors

SCCON’s extensive expo brings digitalisation to life. More than 500 partners and exhibitors present innovative technologies, digital applications and successful projects for central government, the federal states, local authorities and public-sector organisations. Here, digitalisation isn’t just talked about – it can be experienced first-hand. For the third year running, the SCCON Expo has grown – with over 30 per cent more floor space than last year, visitors can meet innovative exhibitors specialising in the digitalisation of the public sector.

96 per cent visitor satisfaction

The Smart Country Convention impresses not only with its scale, but above all with its quality. 96 per cent of visitors rated the event as ‘very good’ or ‘good’, according to the visitor survey conducted at the close of SCCON 2025. The combination of an expo, conference, workshops and networking is what makes the Smart Country Convention such a special experience.

8 key themes

The modernisation of public administration remains the central theme of the Smart Country Convention. For around half of the visitors, digital public services remain right at the top of the agenda. At the same time, future-oriented topics such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, digital participation and digital infrastructure are continuing to gain in importance. This is not only evident from the visitor survey but is also reflected in the diverse range of topics at SCCON 2026.

13 kilometres a day

The Smart Country Convention is not only a place for new ideas, but also for plenty of walking. Visitors easily clock up 20,000 steps in a single day at the event – from the next keynote speech, through the expo, to spontaneous networking conversations. Anyone who experiences SCCON not only gains knowledge, but also covers a few kilometres.

11 months of preparation

Once the Smart Country Convention is over, it’s already time to start planning the next one: no sooner have the stages been dismantled and the halls emptied than preparations for the next edition begin – with new topics, partners, speakers and programme ideas. Around 11 months of preparation have gone into SCCON 2026 – so that, in 100 days’ time, three days packed with innovation, discussion and networking can begin once again.

7 diverse stages

To provide a platform for the Smart Country Convention’s diverse programme, there will be seven stages at SCCON 2026: the Plaza Stage at hub27, the Red Stage, also at hub27, the Green Stage in Hall 25, the Purple, Yellow and Orange Stages in Hall 26, and the Podcast Area, which will once again be located in Hall 26.

1 shared goal

Behind every number lies a shared vision: to drive forward the digitalisation of the public sector together. The Smart Country Convention brings together the people who develop ideas, implement solutions and make change possible, in order to truly advance the digital transformation. Just 100 days to go until SCCON 2026 opens its doors from 13 to 15 October 2026.
