Smart Country Convention 2025: First highlight speakers announced
• Federal Minister Alois Rainer, Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner, Microsoft Corporate Vice President Agnes Heftberger and other speakers confirmed
• Program schedule for Smart Country Convention 2025 now available
From September 30 to October 2, 2025, the Smart Country Convention (SCCON) expects more than 18,000 participants, 650 speakers, and 400 participating partner companies at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. The first high-profile speakers for this year's stage program have now been confirmed.
Driving forces from politics, administration, and business
Right at the start, participants can look forward to prominent speakers who represent the diversity and relevance of digital transformation in the public sector:
Alois Rainer, Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food, and Home Affairs will focus on the digitization of rural areas. Kai Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin, will contribute the capital's political perspective on smart administrative structures. Dr. Markus Richter, State Secretary in the new Federal Ministry for Digital and State Modernization, will provide insights into the federal government's digital policy, and Ina-Maria Ulbrich, CIO of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, will talk about current challenges and flagship projects at the state level. From the administrative side, Andrea Nahles, Chairwoman of the Federal Employment Agency, will talk about the digitization of her institution and the acceleration of internal administrative processes.
Representing the digital economy, Sebastian Steinhäuser, Chief Operating Officer at SAP, and Agnes Heftberger, Corporate Vice President and Chairwoman of the Executive Board of Microsoft Germany, will take to the stage to provide insights into innovative technologies and digital strategies. Daniela Gerd tom Markotten, Chief Digital Officer at Deutsche Bahn, and Aletta von Massenbach, CEO of Berlin Brandenburg Airport, will contribute practical examples from the mobility sector. The line-up will be rounded off by Markus Noga, CTO of IONOS, with expertise in cloud and digital infrastructures.
Extended program overview now available
This year, the leading event for the digitalization of the public sector will once again offer numerous keynotes, workshops, and panel discussions on the digitalization of administrations, cities, and municipalities. The official program schedule for the Smart Country Convention 2025 provides an initial overview of the extensive stage program that awaits participants on a total of seven stages and in the diverse workshop locations at this year's event.
