Digital experts from politics, federal states and local authorities will meet from 30 September to 2 October at the AKDB stand at the Smart Country Convention. This year, there will be particularly exciting presentations, panel discussions, live acts and a dash of entertainment.

The focus on the AKDB stage will be on the use of technologies that are digitally transforming Germany's local authorities, making them future-proof and ensuring a functioning community. These include end-to-end digital services, business intelligence applications and AI-supported software. Solutions embedded in major European projects for the future will also be discussed: uniform digital identities, the EUDI wallet, the German administration cloud and the Germany stack for a nationwide uniform IT infrastructure. Another topic will be the use of the right middleware and how it enables unhindered data flow between local authorities, government agencies and citizens nationwide.

A special highlight of the programme is the contribution by renowned sustainability expert and transformation researcher Prof. Dr. Maja Göpel. She will give a keynote speech entitled ‘Communities in transition – climate crisis meets digitalisation’ on 30 September at 1 p.m. on the AKDB stage. The discussion will focus on how cities and municipalities can become climate-resilient and sustainable. The subsequent panel discussion with administrative practitioners from Lübeck and Constance will focus on concrete examples of how municipalities can identify risks early on, make better use of data and take effective countermeasures. In this context, the role of data platforms, smart city and business intelligence solutions will be highlighted in order to make informed decisions more quickly and to make forecasts on demographic developments, risk situations due to climate extremes or resource requirements.

The lecture programme will be rounded off by specific best practices from everyday administrative work with numerous guests from federal states and local authorities. At the end of each of the first two days of the event, there will be a ‘Meet the Speakers’ session at 4.30 p.m. for questions, discussion and networking.
