Berlin is combining its smart city vision with the digitalisation of public administration. Visitors can find out how this works and which projects are in the pipeline at the Berlin stand.

In 2026, the Smart Country Convention will once again be one of the most important platforms for Smart City Berlin. As is traditional, the host city will be represented with a stand in Hub27 (Stand 407) and will showcase a wide range of smart city and digitalisation projects. The mornings will be dedicated to the topics of administrative innovation and digital public sector processes. In the afternoons, participants will present specific initiatives from the ‘Gemeinsam Digital: Berlin’ strategy, showcase model projects from Brandenburg and bring together stakeholders from both regions.

Co-exhibitors at the event include the Berlin Senate Chancellery, the Berlin IT Service Centre (ITDZ Berlin) with the government helpline 115, and the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and Reinickendorf Citizens’ Offices with their mobile citizen services. The Berlin stand is organised by the Smart City Unit of Berlin Partner for Business and Technology GmbH.

We will open the first day of the fair on 13 October with new digital projects from the public administration. Following this, experts will present measures from the ‘Gemeinsam Digital: Berlin’ smart city strategy. The presentations will cover concrete approaches to smart participation, mobilising the public via the Kiezbox 2.0, the mobile meeting place Kiezlabor, and the ‘Smart City and Data Governance’ project.

On the second day of the fair, 14 October, we look forward to welcoming Kai Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin, to the Berlin stand. He will announce the winners of the City Challenge Berlin 2026. From 1.00 pm, the focus will be on the Smart Capital Region and the Berlin Smart City Community.

The third day of the fair, 15 October, will centre on the themes of urban resilience and safety in the city, as well as research into the city of the future. The event will conclude with a session led by trainees from the State of Berlin on the topic of training in the public sector and working for the best city in the world.
