Expo Highlight Telekom: T Mission - The Future of Mission-Critical Communications

T Mission combines voice, video, images and data for modern mission-critical communications. TETRA, mobile networks, drones, bodycams and smartphones are connected, prioritising vital communications.

The digitalisation of public safety organisations in Germany is at a critical turning point. Whilst TETRA remains the indispensable backbone as a high-availability voice network, modern operational command requires data-intensive applications (video streaming, AI-supported situational awareness, app ecosystems).

In crisis situations, customers must coordinate an ever-increasing number of organisations, whilst emergency services, authorities and critical infrastructure collaborate simultaneously under intense time pressure. The volume of data from situational overviews, videos, sensors and documents is rising rapidly and must be reliably shared, assessed and made actionable in real time. At the same time, public networks quickly reach their limits or fail, meaning that communications must remain stable even in the event of network congestion, power cuts or damaged infrastructure.

Many of today’s solutions are isolated, difficult to integrate and too complex to use – there is therefore a need for resilient, interoperable and easy-to-use communication and situational awareness systems.

With T Mission, we provide a solution to the challenges outlined above.

  • On the best 5G network with the highest priority for MCx (Mission Critical Communication) traffic.
  • With resilient network hardening approaches to ensure communication is available anytime, anywhere.
  • On a highly secure platform in Germany for the cross-organisational operation of a joint MCx solution for and with the federal and state governments.
