Smart Country Convention 2025: BMI takes over patronage, Expo continues to grow

• Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community once again assumes patronage with its own exhibitor stand

• Event area to be expanded in a third exhibition hall

• Smart Country Convention 2025 from 30 September to 2 October at the Berlin Exhibition Centre

The Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI) will remain the patron of the Smart Country Convention (SCCON) in 2025 and will have its own stand at the eighth edition of the event. The signs are already pointing to growth for the leading digitalisation event in the public sector. In a total of three exhibition halls, everything at this year's SCCON will revolve around the topics of artificial intelligence, IT security and smart infrastructure.

Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser: ‘The further digitalisation of administration is the key to a modern, citizen-oriented state. The Smart Country Convention has become one of the most important platforms in Germany and Europe for driving innovation and promoting dialogue between politics, business and administration. As the Federal Ministry of the Interior, we are supporting this key event in order to shape Germany's digital future together.’

In addition to the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community, numerous other industry-leading companies and institutions have already confirmed their participation. These include adesso SE, the Bundesdruckerei Group, the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, IONOS, Schwarz Digits and the Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU). Visitors can expect more than seven stages, numerous workshops and valuable networking opportunities in the halls of Messe Berlin.

More space for innovative topics

The Smart Country Convention 2024 ended with a record attendance of 18,000 participants, 650 speakers and more than 400 partners. Due to the growing interest, the leading digitalisation event for the public sector is expanding its event space. In addition to hub27 and Hall 25, part of Hall 26 will also be used for the first time.

Project manager Jusuf Hadziselimovic: ‘The Smart Country Convention once again recorded a significant increase in the number of participants last year. We want to offer both exhibitors and visitors the best possible platform for dialogue, networking and innovation, which is why we are expanding the event space.’

In terms of topics, the Smart Country Convention will once again cover the entire spectrum of the public sector in 2025. The focus will be on the use of artificial intelligence in administration, smart cities and smart regions as well as IT security and smart infrastructure.
