Nikolai Astrup has served as Minister of Digitalisation in Norway since January 2019. He is a member of the UN Secretary-General’s High-level Panel on Digital Cooperation. From January 2018 to January 2019, Astrup served as Minister of International Development. Astrup holds a master's degree in European Politics and Governance and a bachelor's degree in International Relations, both from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He was elected Member of Parliament from 2009 to 2018 and leader of the Conservative Party in Oslo from 2012 to 2018. In parliament, Astrup was member of the Standing Committee on Energy and the Environment, the Standing Committee on Transport and Communication, and the Standing Committee on Finance. Astrup was the editor of the conservative periodical Minerva from 2001 to 2008. Astrup is 40 years old, married and has three children.
